Smoke Alarm Recalls

CPSC Recall No.: 19-162
: On July 10, 2019, Universal Security Instruments recalls about 180,000 smoke alarms.
The smoke alarms may have a misaligned internal switch causing the alarms to not activate.

CPSC Recall No.: 19-031
: On November 8, 2018, Lifetone Technology recalled about 10,000 beside fire alarms and clocks.
The smoke alarms may fail to operate.

CPSC Recall No.: 18-128
: On March 21, 2018, Kidde/Fyrnetics recalled around 500,000 duel sensor smoke alarms because they were assembled without
removing the yellow protective cap over one of the sensors.

CPSC Recall No.: 17-031
: On November 10, 2016, Kidde recalled approximately 5 Million combination smoke/carbon
monoxide alarms. These alarms should continuously chirp after the alarm reaches it 7-year end of life.
If the battery is replaced the alarm will stop chirping.

: On September 9, 2016, Bosch Security Systems recalled about 950 Radion wireless smoke alarms.
They may fail to alert consumers to a fire.

: On September 11, 2014, Kidde recalled approximately 1.3 Million hard-wired combination
smoke/carbon monoxide alarms. The alarms could fail to sound following a power outage.

: On August 13, 2014, ESL and Interlogic brands recalls about 150,00 because radio frequency interference
can cause the detector to fail to alert consumers.

: On May 21, 2014, Nest Labs (Google) recalled 440,000 combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms.

: On July 9, 2009, Kidde recalled about 94,000 Model 12000 duel sensor smoke alarms. An electrostatic discharge
can damage the unit.

: On May 15, 2008, Maple Chase Co. recalled about 280,000 Combination smoke and carbon monoxide units due to
alarm malfunction.

CPSC Recall No.: 06-151
: On May 2, 2006, Fire Alert (BRK) recalled approximately 150,000 combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms.
The alarms can rapidly drain the battery.

: On May 25, 2000, Universal Security Instruments recalls about 34,000 smoke alarms. A Capacitor in
the alarm can burn out, releasing smoke and melting the cover.

: On September 4, 1992, BRK recalled approximately 3.5 million smoke alarms.
Corrosion on the horns' electrical contacts can cause them not to sound.

: On November 1, 1983 , Electro Signal Lab (ESL) recalled about 500,000 smoke alarms. The units may not sound or
fail to sound loudly.

CPSC Recall No.: 77-081
: On July 29, 1997, Master Lock Company recalled about 32,000 battery and duel powered smoke alarms.
Some of the alarms were inadequately cleansed of soldering flux and may fail to alarm when the
relative humidity is over 70%.
